ABOUT THE COLLECTION

A clear place to read Hanuman Chalisa

Hanuman Chalisa Lyrics is a multilingual reading resource for people who want to follow the prayer in a familiar script. The directory covers all 22 scheduled Indian languages plus English, with direct links between reading pages. The restored core includes Hindi, English, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Tamil and Malayalam. The additional pages are newly prepared reading resources.

What you can find here

Each language page contains a readable prayer text, guidance for following the verses and answers to common questions. Four recovered PDFs and a recovered audio recording are available on the relevant pages. We distinguish downloadable original files from browser-generated reading copies.

Restoration and new material

The core collection was restored from available 2022–2023 web archives. A web archive preserves only what it captured, so some images and downloadable files could not be recovered. The current presentation adds new navigation, reading guidance and devotional illustrations. We do not describe newly created artwork as an original archive asset.

Text, script and meaning

Different scripts can represent the same spoken words. A transliteration helps pronunciation; a translation explains meaning. The English page uses Roman letters, and other script versions should not automatically be treated as word-for-word translations. Small spelling differences can occur between editions.

New language versions

New script readings use automated script conversion of the recovered Devanagari prayer. Meaning sections are concise summaries translated with machine assistance. These are not certified translations or full scholarly commentaries. Languages that share Devanagari may show the same prayer wording with different localized explanations. New script versions can differ from traditional printed editions.
